iOS 14.5 comes with a new feature that allows users to unlock iPhones with Face ID even while wearing a mask. It is imperative that the user needs to wear the Apple Watch for it to work.

According to Pocket-lint , to do this, the Apple Watch needs to be placed near the iPhone. However, this option will not be enabled automatically, users need to enable it in Settings> Face ID & Passcode on iPhone. Under Unlock with Apple Watch, there will be a toggle to enable this feature. Of course, the Apple Watch in question must be paired with an iPhone for it to work. The feature will also require the watchOS 7.4 update to be installed on the Apple Watch, which users can update in the Apple Watch app on iPhone once they’ve updated to iOS 14.5 .
