LPDDR5 RAM, which began mass production at US semiconductor company Micron, will be installed in Xiaomi’s next flagship smartphone ‘M10’ series.

According to a Chinese media report on the 6th, Chang Sheng Xiaomi Group vice president announced that “micron LPDDR5 DRAM memory will be installed in the Mi 10”.

Micron 12GB LPDDR5 DRAM in the Mi 10 series delivers transfer rates up to 6.4Gbps and data access speeds up by 50%. It’s twice as fast as LPDDR4 and 20% better than LPDDR4x.

In addition, power consumption is reduced by 20% compared to the previous generation, which can improve the battery life of smartphones by 5-10%. In particular, Macron argued that running more than 100 apps at the same time would not cause bottlenecks.

Rumour has it that the Mi 10 series will be announced next week.
