Smartphone users can now store 260 10-minute videos in 4K UHD (3840×2160) format, while the 64GB eUFS, which is widely used in many high-end smartphones, can store 13 videos of the same size.

Samsung said that the 1TB eUFS also has excellent speed, allowing users to transfer large amounts of multimedia content in a very short time. The new eUFS speeds up to 1,000MB/s per second, which is twice the continuous read speed of mainstream 2.5-inch SATA Solid State Drives (SSDs). Random reads up to 58,000 IOPS and random writes up to 50,000 IOPS.

Samsung plans to expand its fifth-generation 512Gb V-NAND production at its Pyeongtaek plant in South Korea in the first half of 2019 to fully meet the global mobile device manufacturer’s demand for 1TB eUFS.
