In the Snapdragon 855 computing platform, Qualcomm said it will introduce the fourth-generation artificial intelligence computing engine, and bring 3 times the performance improvement, while providing 2 times the performance improvement compared with other competitors. In the game experience part, Qualcomm joined the new Elite Gaming design in Snapdragon 855 by cooperating with famous game manufacturers around the world, the game execution performance is enhanced by the CPU, GPU and other computing components in the computing platform. It is expected to be in the game and virtual reality. Experiences such as augmented reality bring higher computing performance.
Qualcomm emphasizes that Snapdragon 855 will become a new industry technology standard and drive new market application reforms. However, Qualcomm has not announced the specific details of Snapdragon 855, so it is expected to reveal more information at this technical conference.

However, even integrating the neural processing components in the Snapdragon 855 does not mean that the existing CPU, GPU, DSP and other components, with the Snapdragon NPE artificial intelligence computing engine will be eliminated, Qualcomm still emphasizes Snapdraogn AIE in the early publication process. The design and application is still very important, so in the future, a more flexible design will be added to its computing platform to provide more meta-application design solutions.
As for the processor is expected to be built with TSMC 7nm process technology, compared to Samsung’s current 8nm process technology only in Exynos 9820, Snapdragon 855 is expected to bring further battery efficiency, while taking up less space and adding support 5G Networking function, but at this stage is expected to be based on the additional Snapdragon X50 data chip design, not ready to integrate 5G networking capabilities directly into this processor computing platform.
