Pure Storage, a company specializing in all-flash storage platforms, announced ‘3rd Generation NVMe Flash Array // X’.

FlashArray // X is a new addition to the existing FlashArray family, providing customers with higher performance and faster time-to-market. Customers can benefit from Pure Storage’s continued innovation, including updates to its product and solution suites, as well as future updates.

With the new FlashArray // X, customers can accelerate and consolidate database and enterprise workloads and extend it to the cloud to modernize data protection strategies. All of the enhanced features and performance of FlashArray // X are also available through the Pure-as-a-Service subscription program.

Pure as a service enables customers to support integrated hybrid cloud data services with common features in on-premises, collocated, host environments, or public clouds.

The newly released Flash Array // X is equipped with a Xeon Scalable processor (Cascade Lake) in the controller. This enables performance improvements of up to 25% over previous generations.

It can accelerate the performance of enterprise applications including SAP HANA, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, and SAP HANA OLAP with NSE performance can achieve up to 50% non-disruptive performance improvement without migration.

Accelerate and integrate DAS applications such as PostgreSQL and improve efficiency and time to market with SQL and MySQL. MySQL test results show up to 50% faster performance with a 35% reduction in latency compared to DAS.

With support for NVMe-oF and storage class memory, FlashArray meets the most demanding enterprise database level needs.

The new FlashArray // X family is 100% NVMe for all products that support direct memory cache, including Intel Optane storage class memory. The FlashArray // X family is complemented by a capacity-optimized FlashArray // C that supports all-flash economics for Tier 2 workloads.

”In the industry, the introduction of FlashArray // X is recognized as the smartest purchase, and FlashArray // X is recognized as a product that improves IT operation efficiency,” said Pure Storage’s general manager of FlashArray. “Evergreen is a pure storage // X product that is the only in the data storage industry.
