Google has begun fixing Pixel 4 with the help of software updates. This has become a cumbersome tradition of telephone series. For the time being, we’ve solved the smooth display issue and have to fix the 3D face unlock security issue that can unlock your phone even when you close your eyes. However, Pixel 4 has a big flaw that many software updates can’t fix. Bends.

We’ve come a long way since 2014 when early iPhone 6 buyers found annoying problems. With sufficient pressure on the first generation thin aluminium frame, you can bend it without damaging the structure of the phone. Apple quickly fixed the “bend gate” problem so that it would never happen again.

However, since iPhone 6, all new iPhones have been tested for bending issues, and the YouTube channel JerryRigEverything is a continuous endurance testing source for new devices. The same test was done on all major phones, and Pixel 4 received the same treatment.

Surprisingly to the fact that someone is watching the clip, the Pixel 4 XL has a huge design flaw that can bend. And the problem is much worse than iPhone 6. Antenna lines placed on the sides of the metal frame appear to damage the phone’s structural integrity, causing irreversible damage. As you can see in the image above, the Pixel 4 bends in two places on both sides, or better.

The display still seems to work, but once the phone is damaged it can never come back.

This is a major issue for flagship phones, especially flagship phones that need to compete with the iPhone and all other Android flagships. Therefore, special attention should be paid to how to handle the handset and store it in bags, pants and other places. It is not recommended to sit down, as it may not survive surplus pressure.

And if the Pixel 4 XL bends easily, the Pixel 4 won’t get any better, given that the handset’s design and specifications are the same.

Ironically, Google’s other pixel tradition is to duplicate iPhone design choices and functionality. Sadly, Pixel 4 doesn’t seem to copy the iPhone’s durability. Google should fix this problem immediately. In the meantime, check out the full durability test video below to see how the Pixel 4 is under pressure.
