LineageOS 17.1 based on Android 10 almost seems to come out

Android 10’s LineageOS 17.1 seems to be on the verge of release, Android Police notes. The list of supported devices is already there and those devices are no longer receiving builds of LineageOS 16.1.

There are now mainly old phones on the list of supported models, Android Police notes . Among them are the Samsung Galaxy S4, LG G2, LG G3, LG V20, HTC One M8, Motorola Moto Z and Fairphone 2. These are all phones from 2013 to 2016. Many of them already have LineageOS 16.1 support.

There are already LineageOS-based custom ROMs that work with Android 10, but the people behind Lineage themselves have not yet released a build based on Google’s latest mobile operating system. That often follows months after the release of a new version of Android. For example, LineageOS 16 based on Android Pie was released in early March last year .

LineageOS is the best known custom rom for Android phones. Users can replace the original firmware from the manufacturer. Tweakers published a test of phones with custom ROMs last year .
