LG’s action on system upgrades is not particularly fast. Recently, LG announced the latest 2019 smartphone software upgrade plan. Currently, on LG’s 2019 task list, only one mobile phone has completed the upgrade of Android 9 Pie.

The phone that has been upgraded to the Android 9 Pie system is the LG G7 ThinQ. According to LG’s plan, the upgrade schedule for other mobile phones in 2019 is as follows:

Second quarter: V35 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ, V30, V30S

Third quarter: G6, V20, Q8 (2018)

Fourth quarter: Q9, X5 (2018)

The LG V40 ThinQ was released in October last year and features a notched OLED display with 6.4-inch, 3120×1440 resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The notch area has a built-in front camera, earpiece and other sensors.

In terms of configuration, the LG V40 ThinQ is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage. Built-in 3300mAh large battery, support for fast wireless charging and USB-C interface. LG V40 ThinQ comes pre-installed with Android 8.1.
