The Huawei P40 lineup comes with EMUI built on a bunch of Android 10 on older devices from Huawei’s portfolio, and a slightly updated version of Huawei’s EMUI 10 software is also expected to receive 10.1 EMUI 10.1 in the box. For example, users of Huawei P30, Huawei Mate 30 and Huawei Nova 5T around the world received a global beta build of EMUI 10.1 a month ago. Chinese OEMs are planning to deliver a stable build to the Huawei Mate 30 series sometime next month, but the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are currently receiving stable EMUI 10.1 updates in several European countries.

Interestingly, the so-called “New Edition” of Huawei P30 Pro comes with the factory-installed EMUI 10.1, so you can quickly use the 10.1 updates as a regular P30 / P30 Pro. However, Huawei is pushing another version of the software based on EMUI 10 for phone duo with security patch level (SPL) of the same May 2020 security patch level (SPL) in some regions, so the actual large-scale EMUI 10.1 rollout for this device. This may be scheduled to be next month.
Interestingly, Huawei’s new Celia voice assistant is not currently included in the P30 series EMUI 10.1 build. The company recently set up its own virtual assistant on the Huawei P40 lineup, but the arrival schedule for the old model has not been confirmed.
