The functionality was expected since October, and for good reason: the facial unlocking of the Pixel 4 did not require the user to look at the smartphone .
An odd which did not fail to arouse strong reactions at the exit of the smartphone, and which is therefore seen filled once and for all with the April update. Six months, all the same.

A feature enabled by default
As Droid Life reports, Google has not just introduced the feature asking the user to open their eyes to unlock their smartphone. He enabled it by default on his compatible devices.
The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are now much closer to iPhones working with Face ID, which also require the user’s attention to be unlocked.
After updating your device, you can make sure that the functionality has been activated by going to Settings> Security> Face Unlock.
