The Google Live Caption feature, announced in May, is being distributed to the Pixel 3 series and the Pixel 3a series, following the Pixel 4 series.

Live Captions adds subtitles to real-time subtitles when an Android phone user plays video or audio. By creating captions at the top of the screen for video service apps like YouTube and Instagram or video chat apps like Skype, people with hearing or hearing impairments can accurately grasp the video or audio content.

Live Caption currently supports only English. “We plan to add more languages in the future, and we’re working with the manufacturer to provide more devices with features,” he said.
