Google is testing a new feature called “double-tap gestures” in the Android 11 operating system, the foreign media reported.
Reportedly, this feature is being developed under the code name Columbus. Double tap on the back to call Google Assistant, call camera apps or play multimedia.
It works even when the screen is off, and unlike the existing ▲ Active Edge ▲ Motion Sense, it uses a built-in accelerometer or gyroscope sensor to recognize the strength of the knock so you can use it without special hardware.
The new gestures will be available exclusively in the Google Pixel lineup.
