According to XDA news, recently, Nokia officially announced the kernel source code of Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8.1 on GitHub, which means that developers can customized the two phones for ROM, and users have the opportunity to brush in more useful third-party ROMs.

Developers can now download the kernel source code for the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8.1 phones via GitHub . It is worth mentioning that HMD Global is not very active in terms of open source. It has promised to provide BootLoader unlocking service for some Nokia models. So far, only one Nokia 8 can be unlocked.
